Meet Victoria Radmore, the dedicated Membership Coordinator at Loveday, overseeing all care enquiries with expertise and compassion. In her pivotal role, Victoria guides individuals through the crucial decision-making process. With a wealth of experience, she provides valuable insights on the key questions to ask during visits, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the care environment, so loved ones are informed and supported every step of the way.
Victoria shares advice on the best 3 questions to ask when visiting a care home:
The first question I would recommend asking is what a typical day looks like for residents. This will give an indication on how tailored each resident’s experience will be, so you can start to build a picture of what life could be like if you were to make a move.
Ask if you can enjoy a meal with the residents. It’s the best way to understand what the food is like as well as the dining atmosphere. Also ask if you can participate in the activities sessions, rather than just observe. This a good opportunity to speak with residents and carers, understand dynamics and experience a typical session.
I frequently get asked about future care needs that may develop and it’s a really good question to ask to make sure the home is fully equipped to deal with changing care needs. You don’t want to have to be moving again.
At Loveday we are there every step of the way and it really is a home for life for everyone we have the pleasure of caring for. Loveday Residences provide comprehensive and continuous care with 24-hour nursing support capable of handling complex conditions through end-of-life care.
