Festive Fun at Loveday
In December, our Extraordinary Days Outing had a festive glow-up as we celebrated the Twelve Days of Christmas with an array of enriching and joyful experiences curated around the hobbies and interests of our Members. We explored Christmas in the city, continued life-long traditions and made new traditions throughout the month with our friends and loved ones.
On the First Day of Christmas – Members sang to carols as they decorated the Christmas trees throughout the Loveday residences. There were baubles, angels, tinsel, mulled wine and mince pies galore which were enjoyed by all and set the scene for the most wonderful time of the year!
On the Second Day of Christmas – Members enjoyed a trip to the world-famous Covent Garden Winter Market and marvelled at the new golden bells Christmas installation and beautiful light displays.
On the Third Day of Christmas – The Satin Dollz brought a vintage twist to our celebrations, entertaining us with vocal harmonies and show-stopping dancing. Everyone enjoyed tapping and singing along to these festive favourites.
On the Fourth Day of Christmas - Artist in Residence Grace Holliday began the Loveday Arts holiday workshops where Members started to make decorations including baubles, paper wreaths and snow globes to decorate the home and Christmas cards to send to loved ones.
On the Fifth Day of Christmas – Members embarked on a festive shopping expedition to Harrods, enjoying the seasonal spirit and delights of the famous food hall. Some even enjoyed having their makeup done at the beauty counter, adding extra sparkle to the festive mood
On the Sixth Day of Christmas – Opera Holland Park performed a very special Christmas concert for Loveday Members featuring a collection of our favourite music.
On the Seventh Day of Christmas – We cosied up in front of the fire, enjoyed egg nogs and mince pies and settled in to watch the Nutcracker, live streamed from the Royal Opera House.
On the Eighth Day of Christmas – Members attended the Songhaven Festive Concert at St Paul’s Knightsbridge where they enjoyed favourite melodies from the operatic stage, tunes from the classic musicals and well-loved songs from the past.
On the Ninth Day of Christmas - We hailed black cabs and went on an adventure around the city to see the Christmas lights in their full glory. From Kensington and Abbey Road to Oxford Street and Trafalgar Square, our Members loved seeing London illuminated in its full festive glory!
On the Tenth Day of Christmas – Members enjoyed a festive Friendship Matinee at the Royal Albert Hall featuring a delightful programme of timeless classics and contemporary carols – truly embracing the spirit of Christmas.
On the Eleventh Day of Christmas – Our Master Chefs led a culinary masterclass where Members made gingerbread villages featuring Loveday Residences (of course there was an obligatory spot of gingerbread tasting!)
On the Twelfth Day of Christmas – We headed to the Churchill Arms Pub, one of London’s most recognisable and famous watering holes, which is also the most Christmassy – featuring a display of 80 Christmas trees and 20,000 Christmas lights.
As we wrap up our Extraordinary Days Outing filled with the spirit of the Twelve Days of Christmas, our hearts are brimming with joy as we look forward to celebrating Christmas with our friends and loved ones.
