Celebrating Vintage Travel - An Extraordinary Day
This month we explored the wonderful world of travel at Loveday with a whole host of intriguing and engaging reminiscence workshops, activities and entertainment. Many of our Members are car enthusiasts so this topic certainly brought about many fond memories and exciting stories from cars they have owned and driven. One of our Members was also fortunate enough to have a passenger drive in a Porsche, as organised by our Activities Team!
Our Members celebrated the golden age of travel on an Extraordinary Day to the London Transport Museum and the Ritz. Members boarded a vintage London Route Master Bus and enjoyed a guided tour through the streets of London. Our specially trained Loveday Tour Guide gave a history of some of London’s most famous landmarks before arriving at The Ritz where they enjoyed a delicious and decadent, three-course lunch at the Michelin star restaurant.
This Extraordinary Day was curated around one of our Members who enjoyed a successful career in transport. He dined weekly at the Ritz throughout his life – even the Ritz doorman and many staff members recognised him!
Considered one of the world’s most glamorous hotels when it opened in 1906, it remains today one of the most desirable hotels in the world and the exceptional food, service and experience were enjoyed by all.
