Our first Extraordinary Day excursion of the year was a resounding success, where Loveday Members revelled in a day filled with joy and discovery as we celebrated our love for travel.
Our day started with an exquisite lunch at Haxells Restaurant & Bar at the Strand Palace Hotel, where we enjoyed Modern British featuring impeccably sourced ingredients. Food and dining experiences are a firm favourite for our Members and Haxells did not disappoint!
Energised and satisfied after our delicious meal, we then embarked on a wonderful journey through time at the London Transport Museum. Nestled in the heart of Covent Garden, the London Transport Museum showcases the city's rich transportation history. Housed in a stunning Victorian flower market building, we all enjoyed a journey through time, marvelling at the iconic vehicles and artefacts that trace the evolution of London's transport system over two centuries. From vintage double-decker buses, steam engines, trolleybuses, trams, riverboats and omnibuses to historic tube carriages, the exhibits offered an immersive experience, complemented by interactive displays and engaging narratives. We also learnt about the important social and cultural impact of London's ever-evolving transportation landscape. Our Members loved learning and reminiscing about their travel experiences of yesteryear.
It was a day of shared laughter, delicious cuisine and historical exploration, creating cherished memories for our Members. As we continue to curate exceptional experiences, we look forward to many more Extraordinary Days that bring joy to all!
