Loveday Abbey Road Shortlisted in the Knight Frank Awards 2024

We are thrilled to announce that Loveday Abbey Road has been selected as a finalist in the Knight Frank Luxury Care Home Awards 2024 in the "Care Home Renovation" category. This prestigious recognition reflects the exceptional efforts of the talented team at Loveday and architects Reardon Smith behind this inspiring restoration project.

We were delighted to restore this derelict home, which was formally a care home for “empowered individuals” who had fallen ill. Working closely with Westminster Council and conservation experts, we were very respectful in maintaining the building’s heritage, which dates back to 1830, retaining its original features when transforming it back to its former glory of a care home.

Loveday Abbey Road home now boasts a harmonious blend of classic charm and contemporary comfort, with state-of-the-art care technology. The building is designed so Members can live with dignity, free to move through spaces with independence and designed to offer level access, comfort and familiarity throughout. Key design considerations have been incorporated within the building, in line with the Dementia Services Development Centre at the University of Stirling ensuring safety, practicality and Member wellbeing at every level.

One of Loveday Abbey Road’s most defining features is the world-class sensory garden, an enclave of tranquillity for all to enjoy. Meticulously researched and designed to benefit the wellbeing of our Members, the garden was completely revived from an overgrown jungle and is now thriving with plants selected not only for their aesthetic appeal but for scent, touch, taste and even sound, helping those with dementia to connect with and fully enjoy the outside space.

The shortlisting for the Knight Frank Luxury Care Home Awards serves as a testament to Loveday’s unwavering commitment to providing a luxurious and compassionate living environment for our Members. From the private suites to the thoughtfully designed communal areas, every aspect of the renovation has been meticulously planned to ensure the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of all.
